The Inspectors was an important turning point for me professionally. After years working as a creative director and completing my award-winning short Far From the Tree, this became my first opportunity directing scripted television for an established series.
Over the course of two seasons, I directed seven episodes and quickly fell in love with the rhythm and collaboration of episodic storytelling. One of the things I enjoyed most was finding ways to bring creativity, visual flow, and strong performances to a show that already had an established tone and structure.
My background directing network branding and main title campaigns had actually prepared me well for that balance. I understood how to work within an existing creative identity while still looking for opportunities to elevate moments through blocking, pacing, atmosphere, and performance.
As always, my focus was heavily actor-centered. I loved working with a recurring cast and finding ways to keep scenes emotionally alive and connected, especially within the fast pace of television production. Blocking became an especially important tool—helping create momentum, visual clarity, and emotional dynamics while keeping the storytelling efficient and grounded.
What I’m most proud of is the fact that the producers continued bringing me back. That trust gave me real confidence that long-form scripted directing was where I belonged and ultimately helped open the door to my first television movies.
